As of August 2026. Vendor-published facts flagged; product facts on the quarterly re-verification list.

What it is

Three surfaces the research establishes: Vertex AI Agent Engine (GA billing from March 2025; Memory Bank preview July 2025) [vendor], Workspace Gemini and Workspace Studio (folded into Workspace plans at no add-on cost from January 2025) [vendor], and the Agent Development Kit plus AP2, the agent payments protocol published with 60-plus partners.

How it answers the bank

Determinism (B1). AP2 is one of the guide's three convergent proofs of the deterministic boundary: cryptographically signed verifiable-credential mandates carrying hard constraints, consumed by deterministic authorisation. It is also the source of the guide's sharpest caveat, because AP2 was red-teamed successfully via prompt injection operating within mandate bounds. The vendor's own protocol supplies both the pattern and its limit.

Productivity (R08). The scale datum: 110 million meeting attendees using automatic notes in a single month, 8.5 times year on year [vendor]. Bundling at no add-on cost is the distinguishing commercial move, and it is why gravity in this estate looks different from the Microsoft estate.

Memory (C). Memory Bank was still preview as of July 2025 in the research. Confirm current state; this is exactly the kind of fact the freshness rule exists for.

Coverage

Core at R01 and R07 (managed runtime). Real at R02, R06, R08 (Workspace), R12. Adjacent at R04, R05, R09, R11.

Watchouts

  • Productivity-suite share differs sharply by measure: domain counts favour this vendor, enterprise seats and revenue favour Microsoft. Any share claim in this category should be read with its methodology attached.
  • Gemini Enterprise as a distinct enterprise agent offering is thinner in the research than the other surfaces here. The guide does not have sourced answers to the bank for it and says so rather than inferring them from the adjacent products.

Evidence status

Bundling, adoption scale and AP2 are vendor-published; AP2's red-teaming result is third-party. Enterprise agent offering specifics are not established to the bank's standard.
